The Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) has clear rules about system size: • A solar system must be designed to meet all of the site’s electricity needs (100%). • When designing your system, we look at the amount of electricity you used in the previous year to set a target for production in kilowatt-hours (kWh). You can increase your target production if you install new major electrical equipment, but you must provide proof of installation and ownership.
